FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Your questions. Our answers.
Our glasses
It is recommended to wear reading glasses when you have difficulty seeing nearby objects clearly, such as books, newspapers, computer screens, mobile phones, etc. This can manifest through symptoms like headaches, eye strain, blurred vision, pain or tension around the eyes, difficulty focusing on close objects, trouble reading for long periods, and more. If you are 40 years old or older, you may need reading glasses, as this is generally the age when presbyopia begins to develop. Presbyopia is a vision condition that makes it harder to focus on close objects. It is important to consult an optometrist or ophthalmologist for a comprehensive eye exam if you think you might need reading glasses. They can determine whether you need reading glasses and what correction is most suitable for you.
All our reading glasses and polarized adult sunglasses are designed in the South of France, near Saint Tropez. They are then manufactured in Taiwan by a small family business. We have been working with the same company since the founding of Maison K-Eyes in 2004. Why Taiwan? We chose this small island for its expertise, its high standards in quality, as well as the innovative materials and cutting-edge technology available at ultra-competitive costs.
We have also been collaborating for several years with a family business in China with whom we produce part of our Children’s collections. Why China? We selected this country because of its considerable expertise in producing quality materials for sunglass lenses and TPEE frames, an unbreakable and very durable material that is less well mastered in Taiwan.
It has always been essential for our small French company to offer unique, well-designed, and affordable frames to support you every day.
The majority of our frames are made of injected polycarbonate. It is a lightweight and comfortable material for daily wear, which is highly resistant to impacts and scratches.
Our children's sunglasses, on the other hand, are made from BPA-free TPEE (thermoplastic elastomer). TPEE is a recyclable, non-toxic, and hypoallergenic material that is safe for children. It is also soft, flexible, and impact-resistant, making it ideal for outdoor activities and play.
You can find the detailed list of the composition of our glasses on each product page under the "Technical Sheet" tab.
Single vision For seeing up close. These lenses have anti-scratch and anti-smudge coatings.
Bifocal or double-focus For seeing up close in the sun, with just one pair of glasses. They have anti-scratch and anti-smudge coatings.
Blue Light Protection To protect your eyes from screens. Available with or without prescription and filter about 40% of blue light.
All our optical lenses are made of BPA-free acrylic. This material offers high optical clarity and strong impact resistance.
Polarized sunglasses lenses made of BPA-free acrylic. Our polarized lenses are treated to reduce glare, resist scratches and smudges, and feature UV400 protection of Category 3 to protect your eyes 100% from UV rays. They help reduce reflections while enhancing contrast.
Sunglasses lenses made of BPA-free cellulose triacetate. Our sunglasses lenses offer UV400 protection of Category 3 or Category 2. To find out the type of lens, click on Technical Sheet on each model’s page.
To keep your glasses in perfect condition, store them in their case when you are not using them. Keep them in a dry place at room temperature, away from any heat source.
Clean the lenses with clear water. Gently wipe the lenses with a soft, clean, dust-free cloth to avoid scratches.
To clean all or part of your glasses, never use detergent, solvent, hydrocarbon, or corrosive products.

To determine the diopter you need, simply take a diopter test. Download the test available on each product page, then try to read the texts at a distance of about 30 cm. Each text corresponds to a diopter, and yours will be the one corresponding to the text you can read without difficulty. Still, try to always choose the lowest diopter among those that suit you.
Here are some tips to find out your diopter:
- Use your old reading glasses or those of a close person by doing a reading test. Note: you will find the corresponding correction inside the arms of the glasses.
- You will find your correction on your ophthalmologist’s prescription. If your ophthalmologist prescribed glasses for presbyopia, they will have indicated a positive number ranging from +1 to +3.5.
- You can also follow the recommendations generally observed by presbyopia specialists:
+1 ≃ 40 years
+1.5 ≃ 45 years
+2 ≃ 50 years
+2.5 ≃ 55 years
+3 ≃ 60 years
+3.5 ≃ 65 years and older

We recommend checking the dimensions of the glasses you are interested in by clicking on the "Technical Sheet" available on each product page. This way, you will find the frame and lens measurements to help you make your choice based on the shape of your face. Feel free to take measurements of your face as well. The nose bridge width varies from one pair to another. Opt for a narrow nose bridge if you have a fairly thin nose. "Oversize" frames are generally larger than others and, for example, are less suitable for small, narrow faces. We provide detailed descriptions of each model to give you as much information as possible to assist you in your choice.
You can return most of our collections free of charge (except for Low Prices, Sale periods, and Flash Sales) if you are in mainland France. This way, you can easily try the glasses at home and send back the pair that doesn’t suit you.
If you have trouble choosing your pair of glasses, you can visit one of our retailer stores. Go to the Stores page to access the list of our sales points. We work with retailers worldwide!
Feel free to contact our Customer Service if you need advice.
