To find out the diopter strength of your reading glasses, you need to determine the correction that allows you to read comfortably up close without straining your eyes.

The diopter indicates the power of the lenses. For reading glasses designed for people with presbyopia, it is generally expressed as a positive number, for example +1.00, +1.50, +2.00 or +3.00.

The higher the number, the greater the magnification and near-vision correction. A diopter of +1.00 therefore corresponds to a weaker correction than a diopter of +3.00.
